Early start at the community garden with this beautiful sunrise! Cool air with blue skies and the appearance of beautiful buds on the trees and shrubs.
Thanks so much to those who've been helping out with clearing the thick layer of grass and old membrane away from under the fruit trees which has become quick overgrown. There is still more tidying and attention needed to the trees, but this is a great starting point.
The cherry trees in the garden are now flowering and looking really lovely adding a pop of colour to the garden. If you're coming to visit in March, you'll see a few colours popping up around the place.
Another job which has made good progress is clearing an area along the boundary and moving the small fruit bushes to this area. These can then be covered with a small frame and netting along here to protect them from birds as the fruit sets in, and allow us to better manage these plants.
We've also had a few amazing donations for the gardens, some of which include this beautiful decorative log which we hope to plant in and use near the entrance to the garden, as well as this set of amazing terracotta pots we will use to place around the garden.
Do get in touch if you would like to visit and help out or donate.
Look out for more updates coming soon!
